Ruth muhlbauer

Ruth Muhlbauer began serving as Associate Minister at Calvary Hill Baptist Church on January 1, 2012. A native of Washington, D. C., she graduated from the George Washington University with a BA in Education in 1969, and earned a Masters Degree in Spanish in 1972. In 2011 she earned a Master of Theological Studies Degree from the John Leland Center for Theological Studies.

Though she was a stay-at-home mother while her children were young, through the years she has worked for the U.S. Government, taught Spanish, taught preschool, and co-directed Calvary Hill’s preschool. She has also served in many lay leadership roles in Baptist churches. 

She and her husband Al have two grown children, a son-in-law, and a grandson.

COLLEEN TURNER
congregational social worker

Colleen Turner is delighted to serve the Lord as Congregational Social Worker at Calvary Hill Baptist Church. Colleen received her Master's in Social Work from Temple University in the early 1980's. She worked in the community as an Elementary School social worker, before receiving her Graduate Certification in Gerontology from George Mason University, and then worked in the field of Senior Services since 2004. In June 2020, Colleen received her Master's in Christian Leadership from Leland Seminary in Arlington, VA. As the Congregational Social Worker for Calvary Hill Baptist Church, Colleen leads Mission team community outreach programs and provides information and advocacy for church members who are navigating community resources and services for older adults and adults with disabilities.
